To: Al-Haj Muhammad Yakub Sahib, Bombay

Date:1^st Ramadhan 1388/21^st November 1968

 

Most honourable and gracious Muhammad Yakub sahib, may your effulgence become far-reaching.

After the sunnah greeting. Today, 1^st Ramadhan I received your letter sent Wednesday. Though I am hard pressed to find any time for mail during Ramadhan, your letters are connected to my personal issues, accordingly I wait for them anxiously. There has been no moon sighted Friday night, hence it is 1^st Ramadhan today, Saturday. This useless-one prays assiduously, may Almighty Allah shower this tainted one and you with the abounding blessings of Ramadhan.

I received the two letters dearest Abdur-Raheem sent from home and the train; he penned returning to Bombay on the 23^rd. should he arrive on receiving this letter, after the sunnah greeting kindly inform him thus: The two express letters have failed to arrive. A response to the letter written on the train was forwarded to Haji Yakub Sahib’s address. I am more concerned than you about your Ramadhan being consumed. I will spend all of tomorrow in anticipation of correspondence from you and Haji Sahib. May Almighty Allah through his grace and bounty afford you a safe and pleasant return journey.

I returned yesterday on Thursday 29^th Sha’ban. Haji Zamzami is accompanying me in e’tikaaf. I was relieved to receive brother Mahmood’s correspondence; he wrote a pressing letter requesting intercession on his behalf, but failed to expound on it.

Upon completing the letter, I was pleased in receiving an envelope from dearest Abdul-Qadeer wherein he forwarded a copy of a letter from Brother Bilal. May Almighty Allah grant you his auspices with ease. I earnestly pray for ease and success in your trip. Kindly inform Haji Yakub Sahib there is no need to send another copy of Brother Bilal’s letter.
