After the sunnah greeting, it has been several days since your correspondence arrived here, by the grace of Allah this useless-one cannot identify any picket, especially now that I’m suffering from cataract. I remember the names of the people who were well-known, but not the one’s who remain nameless. Amongst those who are known to me was someone by the name of Wakeel, you write that this was someone else, look, I’m not adamant on detesting everyone of that name. I showed your letter to numerous lecturers in the madrassa, they too concur with me, in that they cannot recall there being two persons of the name Wakeel, however, I most certainly do remember the picket by the name of Wakeel. In any case, I don’t have any objections to your coming; I have no reservations about pickets coming here, they arrive here frequently. In so far as the bay’at is concerned; given that the strength of the bond is connected to mutual affinity; I most respectfully decline, I would not want to shoulder responsibility for somebody’s lack of progress. If one is able to apply oneself and attain to his purpose elsewhere then that would be apposite. Again, whether you are a picket or not you have my unreserved permission to come here. However, I sincerely recommend that if you were part of the strike then kindly consult with other mashaikh of our time and petition them, inshallah this will prove more beneficial to you. The rationale for this is should it subsequently come to light that you were part of the faction then it will give cause to distress for me and a cause for detriment to you.
That is all, Salaam
