Abdur-Raheem Motala Sahib

In the course of today’s afternoon meal I learned by way of dearest Molvi Ismail news of the acute illness, promptly I asked for a reply card with the intention that I write to you without delay in order that you receive it not later than Monday. It is possible that you may not have had a card to hand and this would facilitate in receiving an immediate reply given that dearest Yusuf is leaving on Tuesday and I would have to wait an additional two days.
It is simply dearest Molvi ……. carelessness that the card has been lost. What in actual fact disappoints me is despite my aegis my friends were so indifferent to the fact that I had a reply card searched for midway during a meal. Well at any rate, a delay was destined and I will continue to wait to hear news of your well-being. Kindly send a card in reply informing of your well-being, and repeatedly do so.
I am sending the money intended for Molvi Gulam Muhammad with dearest Yusuf and in accordance with your directive I am sending………. Etc. it has become evident that Molvi Yusuf is extremely ingenuous and is particularly naive concerning my affairs so there is a good chance that he may drop the envelope somewhere en-route.
There is obvious heartfelt grief with the departure of dearest Yusuf and especially as I find his zikr so stimulating, consequently I left instructions of zikr in his capable hands, but he is obliged to go. I recommend there need not be any further delay. May Allah permit him to return by sha’ban and spend ramadhan here with us, providing this unworthy-one is still living.
I have heard news of your imminent arrival but under no condition are you to come here while you are ill, May almighty Allah grant you are hasty recovery. Convey my sunnah greetings and request for prayers to your khala and if convenient to Hafiz Qasim Sahib.
That is all, Salaam
Hazrat-Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib
Dictated to Yusuf
