Volume 1 Letter 64

From: Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Moulana Muhammad Zakariya Sahib (May his secret be sanctified)

To: Hazrat Moulana Abdur-Raheem Motala Sahib

Date: Muharram-Safar 1388/March-April 1968

Dearest Molvi Abdur-Raheem, after the sunnah greetings, at the outset, it was by way of your letter some days ago that I initially heard of Gulam Muhammad’s separation. I had intended to send a money order but I’ve had little reason to send one in the past, I have always been miserly in this regard. Subsequently I had the notion of availing myself of dearest Yusuf’s rent money and sending it to him.

I inquired of Yusuf as to who retains the deposit and he informs me that it is with you, this pleased me immensely as this will facilitate things significantly. I requested dearest Yusuf to take 100 rupees from the amount and impart it to Molvi Gulam Muhammad and also hand over the attached letter to him.

Dearest Yusuf has repeatedly sought council from me with regards to him moving to London, it is my view that he should leave without delay and thereafter if Allah should grant him favour return ahead of Ramadhan. The court case would have got underway on the Monday, I am terribly concerned about it, may Almighty Allah minister his support.

From: Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Motala Sahib (May Allah lengthen his lofty shadow)

After the sunnah greetings, it was only today that I took receipt of your letter, I did pen acknowledgement letters for the earlier correspondence I trust you have received them. I have tendered Mufti Sahib’s letter to him, the preceding Juma he personally enquired of me if I had received any mail, I replied in the negative to which he said that he too had not received anything.

Nevertheless, we will know by this evening, inshallah Mufti Sahib himself will bring the amount and god willing distribute it as per instructions and thereafter I will send the remaining amount tomorrow after Juma. This lowly one’s health is the same as before.

Hazrat’s health is unchanged; in the main Hazrat does not turn up to dine at lunchtime, though physically he is still the same. I wrote in the previous card that Hazrat will undeniably go for Haj next year don’t consider this as hearsay neither is it conjecture or rumour, it is accurate information. Kindly inform if you receive any letter from our esteemed mother.

Last night Hazrat gave permission of bay’at to Mia Ji Musa Mewati; a companion of Moulana Ilyas Sahib who is now of a very advanced age.

Convey my Salaam and request for prayers to chothi khala and bhabhi sahiba.

That is all.
