Volume1 Letter 59
From: Hazrat
Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib (May his secret be sanctified)
To: Hazrat Moulana
Yusuf Motala Sahib (May Allah lengthen his lofty shadow)
Date: 15th
February 1968/ 16th Zi’ Q’aada
After the sunnah greetings, I took receipt of your card. I am concerned and upset to learn of your fathers escalating indisposition, may Almighty Allah through his grace and bounty accord him good health. Kindly communicate sunnah greetings from this slave and visit him on my behalf. I believe that during the present condition of your father you should reside there on a permanent basis and dear Molvi Abdur-Raheem will come in the morning and leave in the evening. It appears the place is quite close by. The fact that your father does not require assistance is of little consequence; it is a requisite of your obligation and sense of duty to spend as much time as possible with him, this is for the best, and since he wakes you up at night with the intention to make conversation then it is even more necessary.
You fail to mention anything in your card about your passport such as what stage it is at currently. I understand the arrival of the Principal’s nephew from your madrasah has been postponed for the reason that one of the teachers left and he was given the appointment in his place, this is excellent news. Has the certificate along with dear Abdur-Raheem’s letters deposited with Mufti Aziz-ur-Rahman been received yet, you fail to mention this in your card. Pass on my sunnah greetings to dear Abdur-Raheem and dear Gulam Muhammad.
Since Ramadhan it has been extremely cold here. There is a great deal of snow on Mansoori and hail in the immediate and neighbouring area, as a result the cold weather is at its peak and this useless one is especially affected by the cold.
That is all, Salaam
Hazrat Sheikh May his shadow be lengthened
From Ismail: After the sunnah greetings, ask Molvi Abdur-Raheem if he received the envelope. One amulet for tying and another for drinking is forwarded. The cold weather here is quite severe, may Almighty Allah protect us. Communicate my sunnah greetings at home.
That is all, Salaam
