Volume1 Letter 46
From: Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib (May his secret be sanctified)
To: Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Motala Sahib (May his lofty shadow be lengthened)
Date: 1 st Ramadhan 1387/3 rd December 1967
After the sunnah greeting. Since your departure, I have received only the one letter relating your welfare, we are beholden. However , I did not hold out much hope for that either, owing to your busy schedule . The day before yesterday, Saturday, Abdur-Raheem was painstakingly searching my mail for your letter; I asked him why he was wasting his time. He of course was rather more optimistic and so continued in his search.
Today, Monday 1 st Ramadhan, I learned of your surreptitious letter for the attention of Abdur-Raheem, which arrived enclosed within his wife's envelope. In any case, I was delighted to learn of your well-being, may almighty Allah keep you happy and content. After writing to this point, Molvi Ismail has informed me that your correspondence has presently arrived, this pleased me enormously, when something is received unexpectedly, it brings that much more joy. I miss you immeasurably but there is no cure for what is foreordained.
Communicate my sunnah greetings to your Principal Sahib and inform him that this unworthy one prays on his behalf concerning both the issues. May almighty Allah through his grace and bounty facilitate him with the honour of performing pilgrimage and assist him in purchasing his own house. I sincerely pray that Almighty Allah grants him its realization with ease and simplicity.
That is all, Salaam
Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib
Dictated to Abdur-Raheem
Monday 1 st Ramadhan 1387
I am hitherto unapprised whether you have submitted your passport application or not? I am unaware whether you will be spending eid in Naroli or in London ? If you spend eid in London then inshallah, multiple eid's will come together at one and the same time. That is all.
Note from Moulana Abdur-Raheem Sahib:
Hazrat Sheikh prays most earnestly, and is deeply concerned. Inshallah Hazrat's attention will bring fruition. God willing, Hafiz Qasim Sahib has been released, if there are others then kindly enquire from them concerning the injustices and inform me, I will in turn report it to Hazrat. Your letter for my attention was received today, and was related to Hazrat in its entirety, therefore kindly report exactly and accurately the state of affairs there. One thing I fail to understand is that there is a lawsuit against the police, yet they are still asking for remand, I cannot understand that. Continue your correspondence with Hazrat and petition him for prayers on behalf of dearest father; furthermore, continue writing to Hazrat in respect to your enthusiasm.
Abdur-Raheem
As per Ismail's instruction, kindly request his father that he writes an acknowledgment card for the receipt of the dates. My E'tikaaf is during the first ten days. In my box there are approximately 30 sachets of powder, take them individually first thing in the morning, it is an excellent treatment for jiryan. I will try to search for your medicine.
