Volume 1 Letter 159
From: Moulana Abdur–Raheem Motala Sahib (May his shadow be lengthened)
To: Hazrat Sheikh–ul–Hadith Sahib (May his secret be sanctified)
Date: 26th Jamadi–Uthani 1389/8th September 1969
I request you present salutations and blessings at the Holy Mausoleum
Most Holy Hazrat Sahib my refuge in both abodes may Allah prolong your life and may your effulgence shine forth.
After the sunnah greeting, Alhamdulillah this lowly one is well. I trust Hazrat is also in the best of health. I received Hazrat’s air letter and another in dearest Yusuf’s registered mail. Subsequently, today 8th September I took delivery of Hazrat’s correspondence written 1st September, as well as a card written 1st September stamped from Hawdh Qadhi (Delhi).
I feel inadequate expressing due gratitude for Hazrat’s magnanimity and kind benevolence. May Almighty Allah through his good grace and bounty sanction Hazrat a long, healthy, and peaceful life and permit polluted souls like ourselves to appreciate his affection.
I arrived in Naroli yesterday evening, where I came upon Hazrat’s air letter dated 26th August. Today, inshallah, I will write to Haji Yakub Sahib to ask how Hazrat received a letter written Wednesday on Monday and one written Friday received Monday?
With the doctor’s consent, I shall venture to Bombay and visit brother Abul–Hasan with the purpose of inquiring about Hazrat’s well–being. This lowly one sent correspondence from Varethi to Hazrat, which should have arrived by now.
In past correspondence and presently, I beseech Hazrat most sincerely to forgive my transgressions. I firmly believe that in view of Hazrat’s continuing benevolence and affection he will assuredly forgive me. I suffered much chastisement for upsetting Hazrat, and continue to do so.
Furthermore, should my greatest fear be realised, god forbid, and there is even a hint of dissatisfaction within Hazrat, notwithstanding my sins, I attained to nothing, despite Hazrat’s benevolence. Through Hazrat’s kind petitions, I obtained enough grace to complete a few litanies, god forbid I should lose that too.
I beseech Hazrat to pardon this unworthy slave, and consider me in your supplications and for your kind attention. I have missed Hazrat a great deal lately. Let Allah have mercy on my condition through your virtue. What more can I write?
Alhamdulillah this lowly one is on the mend, the medical treatment is ongoing, with fifteen days of treatment yet to complete. The treatment by Hakeem Sahib is discontinued since the fever. I stand in need of your supplications. After the sunnah greetings, Khala Sahiba and my good wife request your kind supplications and to impart their salutations and blessings at the holy mausoleum.
That is all. Salaam
Desirous of the Most Holy Threshold
Abdur–Raheem Surati
