From: Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib (May his secret be sanctified)
To: Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Motala Sahib (May his lofty shadow be lengthened)
Date: 7 th Rajab 1385/ 1 st November 1965
After the Sunnah greeting, I have presently received your express delivered letter, you have apparently neglected to write a return address on the reply envelope, do refrain from doing so in future as cards without addresses are torn up en-route to me . I am pleased that you have benefited from the amulet, may Allah bless you thereby.
Inshallah you will be remembered upon the occasion of the completion of Bukhari Shareef. I have given your card to Molvi Abdur-Raheem to remind me on the occasion of the completion.
That is all, Salaam

From: Moulana Abdur-Raheem Motala Sahib (May his shadow be lengthened)
After the sunnah greeting, this unworthy-one is in good health and trusts that you are also well. I received your letter today and I‘m pleased that you are in good health, this is all through the grace of Allah and all gratitude is attributable to the Sovereign Lord. May Allah enable you to attain success in your exams. In relation to your health, kindly keep me updated on a regular basis, moreover, are you fully convalesced or not? Kindly write as regards to this. Has the swelling improved? I am quite concerned, kindly respond.
In relation to your question pertaining to coming here in early Sha'ban, I recommend you come here on 26 th or 27 th Sha'ban and no earlier, as you are unwell. Recuperate suitably at home during Sha'ban, take some respite and while continuing to observe your prescriptive prayers enjoy a little leisure time and then come here towards the end of Sha'ban.
In addition, it is very cold here, you may consider yourself immune to any immediate repercussions of ill-health seeing as you are young, but in truth it does take its toll on you . This is my sincere and sympathetic counsel; the decision is yours. Furthermore, try not to exert yourself too much to your studies, rather, study an adequate amount that Almighty Allah may enable you to succeed. I have today taken the opportunity to write to our dear mother.
Communicate my greetings to Shabbir. Time is of the essence and with some difficulty it has taken me since yesterday until Zuhr today to finish this letter. Kindly respond and inform me of your proposed date of arrival here.
That is all, Salaam
Abdur-Raheem
