Volume 1 Letter 147

From: Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Motala Sahib (May his lofty shadow be lengthened)

To: Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib (May Allah enlighten his resting place)

Date: 9 th Jamadi-ul-Uwla 1389/23 rd July 1969

To his Holiness, my father, my master, and patron, may your lofty shadow be lengthened now and forever, Asalamualikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

After the sunnah greeting. I previously forwarded a letter, which comprised details of my departure as Friday 18 th July; I trust it reached you. Nevertheless, due to the mismanagement of my co-travellers, there were delays and the necessary travel arrangements could not be made by the specified date. Subsequently, a departure of Thursday 24 th July was arranged, but to date, i.e. Wednesday evening, no information has been received with regard to the reservations. Consequently, I am hastily writing this letter to you this very evening. God willing I am able to leave today.

I am constantly encountering complications this time around; I pray that I am able to depart without further setbacks and have the honour of residing with Hazrat for as long as possible. I have made a firm intention to return home after a year, god willing permission will be granted to stay for the duration. The difficulties experienced in the past two weeks have affected my health considerably and on top of that, today I have had the onset of irritable bowels.

The recent worries hindered me from writing to you. Moreover, the matter remained unresolved and I hoped to write to you as soon as a decision was made. Nevertheless, kindly impart on me your gracious attention and supplicate on my behalf. May Almighty Allah grant me patience, perseverance and permit me to visit without delay and for an extended period. What more can I write, everything else is fine, I require your blessed attention and supplications. May I also take the opportunity to impart my salutations and request for prayers to dearest brother. After the sunnah greeting, brother Muhammad requests supplication on his behalf.

That is all. Salaam

Supplicant to the Divine Court

Humble Yusuf
