From: Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib (May Allah enlighten his resting place)

To: Hazrat Moulana Yusuf Motala Sahib (May his Lofty shadow be lengthened)

Date: 14 th Rabiul-Awwal 1389/30th May 1969

Dearest Molvi Yusuf Sahib Motala

After the sunnah greeting. On 21 st May, I mailed an air letter from Medina Munawwara in response to your letter of affection, God willing you have received it. Ahead of that, some dates and Zam Zam were among some of the items sent with Molvi Jallad sahib; I gathered from his letter that they are received. I have not received any acknowledgment from you thus far. You are immersed in the construction work of your madrassa, but this lowly one recalls you often and supplicates for you ardently.

I have written to Masoom Ibrahim Sahib, who is bringing this letter to you, and as is my custom asked him to stay in touch with you and to visit you if possible. If he should write to you then kindly give him your personal attention. During my stay in Medina, this lowly one was in good health, yet it was not until I arrived in Makkah that I began to feel the effects of the heat in the stomach. May Almighty Allah grant well being.

One issue that I want to draw your attention to you, namely post office’s here do not accept postal orders, if you send any money to Abdur-Raheem then kindly do it in a form that is not restricted at the post office. The exchange rate is usually 10.5 Riyals to the Pound.

That is all. Salaam

Convey my sunnah greeting to your good wife; this lowly one supplicates sincerely on her behalf. May Almighty Allah accord her a complete recovery and restore her to vigour. If you happen to write to your Khaloo and Khala Sahiba then communicate my sunnah greeting to both.

From: Moulana Abdur-Raheem Motala Sahib (May his shadow be lengthened)

Sunnah greeting and request for supplication on behalf of lowly Abdur-Raheem. We arrived in Makkah Mukarramah on 25 th May, and return to Medina Munawwara on 5 th June, Inshallah. I have still not received the money you sent. There has been no correspondence from home or mother. If you happen to write to them, then kindly convey my sunnah greeting and request them to supplicate for me, especially mother. I made numerous circumambulations on your behalf and made repeated supplications for you at the Multazam; together with repeated salutations and blessing on your behalf at the Prophet’s sepulchre, may Almighty Allah accept them. May Allah bless your madrassa with unconditional advancement. Molvi Ismail arrived via Bahrain on 19 th May; he imparts his sunnah greeting and requests you supplicate on his behalf. Communicate my sunnah greeting to Bibi, her parents and Muhammad. If it is convenient then convey my sunnah greeting to Molvi Hashim and Molvi Jallad.

That is all. Salaam
