Volume 1 Letter 114
From: Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib (May his secret be sanctified)
To: Hazrat Moulana Abdur-Raheem Motala Sahib
Date: 3 rd Zi-Qa’da 1388/21 st December 1968
After the sunnah greeting, I received your opportune letter of affection. Clearly, I consider it my misfortune that my letters are unable to reach such an elevated court, in addition dearest Ismail states that “He is busy roaming around, where is he going to find the time.” I dispatched my first card to you on Thursday two days after your departure, thereafter two cards on Saturday, and the fourth on Monday, this being the fifth. I was delighted to hear news of Yusuf’s arm being on the mend.
I have yet to receive any correspondence from Hakeem Abdur-Rashid relating to the medication, several letters have arrived but nothing in relation to you or the medication. You refused to take up the placement; you acted inappropriately.
Don’t break your wife and honourable khala’s heart, whereas this sinner has no heart to break. It would have been ideal had arrangements been possible for your dearest wife to stay here, but it is too late for that. I was pleased to learn of your wife’s goat, I have forwarded 20 rupees with dearest molvi Ayub to pass it on to your honourable wife and thereby purchase another goat. Milk from one goat is barely adequate, and now that you have joined her, one will hardly meet your requirements.
Malik Abdul-Haq and five or six Arabs arrived from the Bhopal ijtima today. Communicate my sunnah greeting to Dearest Yusuf. Providence is sealed, in different circumstances we could have spent two months together. Moulana Munawwar Sahib conveys his sunnah greeting. Molvi Abdul-Mannan Sahib has departed for Raipur with Moulana Manzoor Sahib Nu’mani; they are expected to return this evening or tomorrow morning.
That is all, Salaam
Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith Sahib
